What it means: Asset disclosure means you list everything you own and how much it’s worth, including money, property, and investments. It helps the court fairly divide things.

Example: “We each had to file an asset disclosure so the judge could see what we owned.”

When it's used: Early in the divorce, when property and finances are being discussed.
