What Is the Fresh Starts Expert Guide?
Going through a divorce means suddenly needing professionals you've never needed before — and having no idea how to find good ones. That's the problem the Expert Guide was built to solve.
The Short Version
The Fresh Starts Expert Guide is a curated, vetted directory of divorce professionals — from financial analysts and attorneys to therapists, coaches, real estate agents, and beyond. Every expert listed has been reviewed by our team. Not algorithmically ranked. Not pay-to-play. Actually reviewed.
Why We Built It
When you're going through divorce, the last thing you have energy for is vetting professionals from scratch. Who's qualified? Who's actually good with divorce clients specifically? Who's going to understand what you're dealing with without you having to explain everything from the beginning?
Most directories can't answer those questions. They list anyone who pays to be there. The Expert Guide is different — we look at credentials, yes, but we also look at how someone shows up. Do they understand the emotional reality of divorce? Are they the kind of professional you'd send a friend to?
That's the bar.
Who's in the Expert Guide?
The Guide includes professionals across every category you might need during or after divorce:
Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (CDFAs) — for settlement analysis and long-term financial planning
Divorce Coaches — for emotional support, decision-making, and process navigation
Therapists and Counselors — for individual and family mental health support
Attorneys and Mediators — for legal guidance and dispute resolution
Real Estate Professionals — for selling, buying, or navigating housing transitions
Career and Life Coaches — for rebuilding professionally after divorce
Wellness Practitioners — from fitness to nutrition to holistic support
And more. The directory keeps growing because the needs of people going through divorce don't fit neatly into three or four categories.
How It Works
You can browse the full Expert Guide here and filter by category or specialty. Every listing includes a profile with background, specialties, and how to get in touch.
If you're not sure where to start or what kind of professional you need, you can also book a free Divorce Resource Consult with our co-founder Olivia. She'll help you figure out what support makes sense for where you are right now.
For Professionals: Joining the Expert Guide
If you're a divorce professional interested in being listed, you can learn more about becoming an expert here. We also host a weekly networking event called Tuesday Table, which is a good way to get a feel for the community before committing.
The Bigger Picture
The Expert Guide is one piece of Fresh Starts Registry — the world's first divorce registry and expert ecosystem. Alongside the directory, we publish Divorce Guide Magazine, host a podcast network, and offer a growing library of free resources for anyone navigating divorce.
The through line is the same across all of it: you shouldn't have to figure this out alone, and the support you find should actually be good.
