Decree (or Final Decree of Divorce)

What it means: The decree is the official document from the court that says your divorce is final. It includes the final decisions on custody, support, and property division.

Example: “I got my final decree of divorce in the mail, and it listed everything we agreed on.”

When it's used: At the very end of the divorce process—this is what makes it official.
