Consent Order

Pronounced: kuhn-SENT OR-der


What it means: This is a court-approved agreement between both parties, written down and signed by the judge. It becomes a legal order you both must follow.

Example: “We agreed on the parenting plan, and the judge turned it into a consent order.”

When it's used: When both parties agree on something without needing a full hearing or trial.
