Our Amazing Readers,
Welcome to the very first edition of Divorce Guide Magazine.
When we created Fresh Starts Registry, we dreamed of a world where divorce wasn’t whispered about in shame but spoken about in community—where people could find not just resources, but true support. This magazine is an extension of that dream.
Divorce is so much more than a legal process. It’s an emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual reorientation of your life. It’s the moment you look around and realize that everything has changed—and somehow, you still have to make dinner, show up for work, and figure out who you’re becoming. We’ve been there. One of us rebuilt from an empty apartment; the other stayed in a house that suddenly felt like a ghost town. Together, we created Fresh Starts because we knew that starting over—no matter how it looks—deserves structure, compassion, and celebration.
This magazine is here to hold your hand through all of it. Inside, you’ll find expert guidance from therapists, lawyers, coaches, and financial professionals who understand that divorce is not just paperwork—it’s people. You’ll read real stories from others who’ve walked this path, and find practical advice to help you rebuild your home, your confidence, and your life.
Whether you’re just starting to consider divorce, deep in the process, or finding your way on the other side, we want you to know this: you are not alone. There is no “right” way to start over—only your way. And we are honored to walk alongside you as you do.
Here’s to fresh starts, honest conversations, and the courage it takes to begin again.
With love and solidarity,
Olivia & Jenny

But what if hiring a lawyer at full price just isn’t possible right now? Let’s walk through one of the smartest ways to get professional help without breaking the bank: Legal Aid and Sliding Scale Legal Services.
Filing for divorce—or any family court action—can be overwhelming enough without the added stress of high court filing fees. The good news? You might not have to pay them at all. Here’s everything you need to know, including exact scripts for calling your courthouse, and step-by-step instructions to get started.
