What to say when you’re setting up a service
We love a service we can set up online but sometimes that’s not an option. Here is a simple script for when you need to call to set up a service.
Don’t forget to keep a notebook around so you can take a few notes!
Don’t be afraid to ask for dates, details and account numbers
And don’t be afraid to ask for them to be repeated! Get all the information you need!
Hi! Hope you’re having a great day. My name is [Your Name] and I'm calling because I am moving/have moved and need to change my address. My current account number is [account number] and the service address I need to change is [current address]. I am moving and my new service address will be [new address] effective [move-in date]. Is there any additional information I need to provide, or any fees associated with changing my address? Thank you for your assistance with this change. Is there anything else I need to do on my end? Could you please confirm the new service address on my account is [new address]? May I please have a confirmation number or reference for this address change?"
