Book Writing: Week 4

📖 Week 4 of writing Divorce Happens is IN THE BOOKS 🎉

For those just joining us — hi, hello, welcome — Jenny and I are writing a book together.

It’s called Divorce Happens: A Compassionate Guide to Starting Fresh, it’s published by Sheldon Press, and it comes out August 24th, 2027. We are so proud of it and also slightly unhinged from writing it, which feels correct.

Every week we’re dropping in to tell you how it’s going. The important stuff, obviously.

Where the heck did this week go? The countdown is on until Jenny comes for a stateside visit, so we’re both trying to get a lot of writing done — in between everything else!

favorite lines this week
Jenny
"If every time your mind wanders to leaving an unhappy marriage you are shut down by the compound non-descript voice of society saying 'Good women don't give up on marriage' — you are living for that voice and not your own."
Olivia
"That's what a fresh start feels like from the inside. Not triumphant. Not certain. Just present. Just alive. Just the open road and Dolly Parton and your hands on the wheel and the first real breath you've taken in months."

We’re meeting with our wonderful editor Rachel next week — more to come!
