Artisan Leatherwork With a Mission: Beya Design Is Here for Women

Introducing social enterprise Beya Design.

As a trauma-informed separation, divorce and coparenting coach at The Mother Corp, I specialize in working with women to extract themselves from hardship — often high-conflict divorces — and rebuilding lives that thrive.

So often my clients are experiencing a drop in finances, often financial abuse, and would benefit from sliding-scale support. I get it and help women with the intricate nuances to improve their positions. As a gender-based violence and post-separation abuse survivor myself, I bring my professional, academic, and lived expertise to help women increase safety and wellness.

This all got me thinking.

Last winter I started a second business, returning to my first love of artisan leatherwork — this time as a social enterprise. Beya Design leatherwork is bold, colourful, and joy-inducing. Each bag sold allows me to offer sliding-scale support to women needing trauma-informed divorce coaching.

It's a double win.

I know I'm not the only woman upset about how justice and injustice go down.  As a social commentary, I've put together a "Perimenopausal Rage" line featuring a sassy, ragey uterus keychain and trucker hats. I'm pretty certain some women will get it.

I want beauty in my day-to-day — and I bet you do too.
