A little about Kat…
Rumor has it, I've been building since I was 3, but my hands started paying the bills in 2014 when I landed a gig repairing complex espresso machines. I worked in Facilities Maintenance and Management for 6 years and earned a Handyman Certificate from York College in 2017 and opened my own Handywoman Business in 2019. I am a tinkerer by nature and insatiably curious; so, I regularly pour over trade related manuals/media, and network with trades people to deepen my knowledge and experience.
From 2021-2023 I took a deep dive into finish carpentry while living in Birmingham, AL and found my passion. *queue the angels* There's no greater satisfaction; taking a drawing/idea and building it.
I returned home to the Tri-State in the spring of 2023, reopened my doors with a focus on Finish Carpentry and became a Fresh Starts Registry Expert. Since partnering with Fresh Starts, I've contributed to quite a few publications Better Homes & Gardens, Apartment Therapy, Martha Stewart, Real Simple, Family Handman, and more...
It feels great to be home, I love this area so much and seek to be more than just a local contractor. My goal is to provide transparent, trustworthy and professional services to my clients AND build community, give back, and foster connection.
